Crocs is doing its part to aid in the fight against the coronavirus by donating shoes to health care workers, CNN reports. The footwear manufacturer has pledged to give 10,000 pairs a day to health professionals battling the horrific pandemic.

“Over the past week, we have spoken to health care workers, their facilities and even their family and friends, and they have specifically asked for our shoes in an effort to provide ease on their feet, as well as ease of mind as they need the ability to easily clean up before they go home to their families,” said Crocs CEO Andrew Rees.

Crocs are known to be a preferred footwear choice among health workers since they are comfortable, waterproof, and can be easily cleaned. The shoes, which are made from a rubber-like molded polymer resin, generally boast breathable cut-outs strategically placed across the forefoot.

While shoes are being delivered to hospitals and other facilities, workers can also sign up to receive the free footwear on The company will continue to donate shoes as long as supplies last.

“The duration of our giveaway will depend on our level of inventory and the amount of requests we receive,” Rees concluded. “These workers have our deepest respect, and we are humbled to be able to answer their call and provide whatever we can to help during this unprecedented time.”
