A U.S. tourist is rescued after falling into a crater in Italy’s Mount Vesuvius

News : NPR Clouds hang over the Vesuvius volcano in Pompeii, southern Italy, Jan. 25, 2021.

The tourist and relatives were cited by local police because they went off the authorized path to get closer to the crater, apparently to take a selfie, according to news reports.
