Universal Pictures Home Entertainment’s biopic Oppenheimer continues to dominate retail movie sales, topping all films streamed and/or available digitally through Dec. 3, according to new data from JustWatch.com, which tracks more than 20 million users’ monthly streaming choices across 54 countries.
The Christopher Nolan-directed movie about physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer (played by Cillian Murphy), who was director of the Manhattan Project’s Los Alamos Laboratory during World War II, held off renewed winter holiday interest in 2018 animated title The Grinch and Universal/Focus Features’ comedy drama The Holdovers, starring Paul Giamatti.
Other holiday catalog movies in the Top 10 included How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and Elf.
Among episodic programming, Hulu’s drama series “Fargo” drama series supplanted the streamer’s previous chart topper, limited drama series “A Murder at the End of the World,” co-starring Brit Marling. Rounding out the podium: Prime Video’s catalog episodes of British sci-fi series, “Doctor Who”.
