‘Oppenheimer’ Still Atop Disc Sales Chart for Week Ended Jan. 13 Media Play News

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment’s Oppenheimer remained No. 1 on the Circana VideoScan First Alert chart, which tracks combined DVD and Blu-ray Disc unit sales, and the dedicated Blu-ray Disc chart the week ended Jan. 13.

It was the sixth time topping the overall sales spot in the eight weeks since the packaged-media release for director Christoper Nolan’s biopic about J. Robert Oppenheimer, father of the atomic bomb. It has been the top selling Blu-ray seven times, including five consecutive weeks, and was No. 1 on the 4K Ultra HD disc sales chart for eight consecutive weeks.

Disney-owned Lucasfilm’s Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny remained No. 2 on the overall sales but slipped to No. 4 on the Blu-ray chart. It was No. 22 on the 4K chart.

Universal’s Five Nights at Freddy’s remained No. 3 on the overall chart in its fifth week, while climbing to No. 2 on the Blu-ray chart..

No. 4 on the overall chart was again Lionsgate’s The Expendables 4, which was No. 5 on the Blu-ray chart and No. 10 on the 4K chart.

No. 5 on both the overall disc and Blu-ray charts was the newly Sony Pictures’ The Equalizer 3, which was No. 6 on the Blu-ray chart and No. 3 on the 4K chart.

The No. 3 Blu-ray was Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which was No. 6 overall and No. 2 on the 4K chart.
