Video game publisher Electronic Arts Jan. 30 reported third-quarter (ended Dec. 31, 2023) net income of $290 million, up 42% from net income of $204 million in the previous-year period. Revenue increased 3.4% to $1.94 billion from $1.88 billion in the previous-year period.

The quarter was driven by the sales of legacy EA Sports Madden NFL, which saw a 5% uptick in net bookings, trailing behind EA Sports FC 24, which reported 7% year-over-year net booking growth.

EA Sports FC 24 is an association soccer-themed simulation video game that succeeded the previous FIFA soccer video games after EA’s partnership with FIFA concluded with FIFA 23.
